Akshay Kumar Questioned For Meeting Ram Rahim, Sukhbir Badal, Court Puts 'Stay' On Mission Mangal
With the 2015 Punjab sacrilege cases gaining grounds and investigation running at top speed, Akshay Kumar denied all the allegations of mediation charges levelled against him. Bollywood ‘Khiladi’ gave out a statement to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) who are probing the cases in connection with an alleged Rs 100 crore deal between now-in-jail Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and ex-deputy chief minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal.
As the reports go, Kumar was involved in ‘settling’ crores-worth deal between Badal and Ram Rahim. In response, Kumar said, “There was no other intention or motive involved in the meeting, I met Sukhbir Singh Badal when I visited Punjab in 2011 for a kabaddi match. And just two-three times afterwards. I know him as I know other political leaders of the country. The period the allegations talk about is the time I was busy with my movies Gabbar is Back and Baby. My wife’s tweet was also taken out of context even when it was a sarcastic jibe at Gurmeet Ram Rahim.” He added, “I and my family have immense respect for and full faith in Guru Granth Sahib and Sikhism and we cannot even imagine participating in a conspiracy against them.”
He was in Chandigarh recently for the interrogation by SIT which had summoned him. The actor landed in Chandigarh and when reporters surrounded him at the airport, he said, “Tussi vi aao, naal challo (you too, come along),” leaving for the state police headquarters.
With the investigation still no way near the end, Akshay’s stress level is just increasing with a US-based film-maker, Radha Bhardwaj filing a case against Khiladi’s upcoming movie, Mission Mangal. Radha has managed to get a stay on the film citing copyright infringement.
It seems like stars are not in favour of Akshay Kumar for now and all we can do is hope that all get well at the end for Akki!
