Warner Bros Makes It Official: Robert Pattinson Is The Next Batman
Do you guys remember last week we wrote about news of Robert Pattinson being considered as the next Batman? Well, Warner Bros. has made it official- Robert Pattinson will be the next Batman. He’ll be taking the mantle of the caped crusader from Ben Affleck after he decided to step down from the role following the critical and commercial failure of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Justice League”.
The upcoming Batman movie where Pattinson will be playing the billionaire Bruce Wayne, who wears the suit of the dark knight to fight crime in Gotham City, will be titled The Batman. The movie will be directed by Matt Reeves for the first time and will have a release date in June 2021.
The Warner Bros studio confirmed the news on Friday that Pattinson had managed to beat others on the list- which included Nicholas Hoult- to the role. After a successful stint in Harry Potter and Twilight franchises, Pattinson moved away from the commercial and mainstream film industry, taking his talent to indie movies and working with directors such as David Cronenberg, David Michod, the Safdie brothers and James Gray.
Pattinson had recently collaborated with the French director Claire Denis to work in an erotic sci-fi mystery High Life. And Pattinson received critical acclaim for his work. Another piece of his work, Robert Eggers’s The Lighthouse, an intense psychodrama set in the 19th-century Maine, which was one of the best-reviewed films at this year’s Cannes festival.
The Twilight actor will be seen in another commercial movie before Batman. It’s Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie, “Tenet”, along with John David Washington and will release on July 17, 2020. For more articles on health and fitness, check Befazool Lifestyle.
