War: Hrithik Roshan And Tiger Sheroff Fight It Out On The Big Screen

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer big-Bollywood release, ‘War’, hit the theatres this Wednesday and took the country by storm and broke records at the box office. Siddharth Anand directorial recorded the highest ever opening day collection for a Bollywood movie on Gandhi Jayanti. It beat Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ which released last year.

According to reports on the Boxofficeindia.com, on its opening day ‘War’ collected a massive total of Rs 51.50 crore. The film also recorded the highest occupancy in Tiger’s career and is the seventh-highest in Hrithik’s career, totalling a bumper occupancy opening of 70%.
War is only behind the Hollywood big release ‘Avengers: Endgame’ which opened earlier this year to Rs 53 crore. With 77%, Avengers also holds the record for the largest occupancy of 2019. ‘War’ beat ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ by nearly Rs 2 crore nett despite releasing on lesser screens which collected Rs 48.27 crore on its first day at the box office.

It released on more than 3850 screens in Hindi with releases in Tamil and Telugu too. But the results from down south weren’t that impressive due to a head-on clash with Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan starrer period drama ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’. It did better in the rest of the screens. Another movie which ‘War’ clashed head-on in Tier A cities was the Hollywood release ‘Joker’.

War is directed by Siddharth Anand and is an epic clash of the titans between Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The movie also features Vaani Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana in crucial roles. It was shot in seven countries and tells the story of agent Khalid (Tiger Shroff) on the chase of Kabir (Hrithik Roshan).
