Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai Still Remains The Wittiest Show On Television And It's An Undeniable Fact.
Even after the release of the season 2, the original Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai remains our favorite because let’s admit; it was the best sarcastic show for the time it was aired on TV. It’s hard to digest that Indian television too delivered masterpieces like these.
Apart from the sense of humor which dominated the script, the way the characters were built, depicting the reality of the clash of the middle and upper class, was way out of the league of the Saas-bahu drama.
Maya Sarabhai, the most beloved high-class lady of 2006 had us all by a jolt with her witty one-liners. We were sure we would have a round of laughter whenever she came on screen because undermining Monica was her only hobby.
Rosesh’s poetry had us grieving as well as chuckling at the same time at his unbearable poetry. It had our ears-bleeding (literally).
Monisha’s innocence and her middle-class values tell us that we shouldn’t be afraid to be ourselves even when you go and ask for free ‘Dhaniya’ in a supermarket.
Sahil was the perfect balance between sugar and spice and ensured everything concluded in something nice. The quintessential husband who always gets stuck between the wife and mother but always has his way out.
Indravadan Sarabhai’s sense of turning every critical situation into a sack of laughter was our favorite thing to witness on screen and we could never forget the humiliation he rendered to Rosesh.
We wish Indian TV could get inspired by those amazing times and cut the crap with all the Naagins and shit. Thank God we grew up before these took over.
Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai would forever remain in our hearts because I don’t know about you but it sure made my childhood better and amusing.
