Andhra Police Buys 242 Mahindra TUV300 For Its Fleet
The relation between Mahindra and the Indian Police Forces goes a long time back and is really a strong one. Mahindra’s flagship vehicles- Scorpio and Bolero, are two of the most sought after SUVs and you can find them being used to their full capability by the police forces across the country.
Taking this relationship ahead, Andhra Pradesh Police Force inducted 242 Mahindra TUV 300s in its fleet. Andhra Pradesh chief minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu flagged off the first lot of the new patrolling vehicles from the IGM Stadium in Vijayawada. The state is the second state to add the Mahindra TUV300 to its police fleet after Maharashtra, which currently has 195 of the subcompact SUV in the Mumbai Police force.
Mahindra TUV300, the ones inducted by the Andhra Police has an updated mHawk100 1.5Lt turbocharged diesel engine. This motor produces 100 bhp at 3,750 rpm and develops a peak torque of 240 Nm at 1,600 to 2,800 rpm. Mahindra has mated this motor to a 5-speed manual transmission. The company does offer AMT option for the civilian version.
TUV300 has received decent reviews due to its ruggedness and ability to handle rough roads with ease. Mahindra offers three variants- P4, P6 and P8 and are priced between Rs. 9.59-10.98 lakhs.
